East Baton Rouge Parish is dedicated to providing its new teachers with the tools they need to be successful in their classrooms. New Teacher Induction is designed to give new teachers a wide variety of professional development opportunities that are as personalized as possible. The New Teacher Induction Program includes the following components.
BEST/InVEST Induction Support Program
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System (EBRPSS) is ensuring that new teachers are successful through the Beginning Educator Support Track (B.E.S.T.) and the Incoming Veteran Educators Support Track (In.V.E.S.T.) Induction Programs.
Master Teacher Observations
Observing great teachers in action is one of the best ways to improve practice. New teachers can observe one of EBR’s recognized master teachers for ½ day. New teachers can select their Master Teacher from the list on New Teacher Central, arrange a mutually convenient observation time, and have their ½ day substitute paid for. Master Teacher Observations will be available in September.
Teachers Networking Together Teams
EBR is proud to offer TNT Teams. These small groups give teachers the opportunity to meet together with a trained facilitator and discuss research-proven instructional strategies and analyze student work. To sign up for a TNT Group please contact Beanka Williams at 922-5488 or BWilliams12@ebrschools.org. Teams will begin meeting in September.
Professional Development Opportunities
EBR offer a wide range of professional development opportunities. Throughout the school year a variety of workshops are offered covering topics such as technology integration, classroom management, as well as many other content specific topics.
